GOFFS — The Mojave Desert Heritage and Cultural Association (MDHCA) will hold its 47th Mojave Road Rendezvous Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 15-18, in Goffs, open to all association members.
Registration is $40 per adult and per child 12 and older; children under 12 attend free. Attendees can register and pay online in advance or on-site at the Schoolhouse, where cash, check, credit card, PayPal and Venmo are accepted. A full schedule was not available at time of publication.
During the Rendezvous, the association is also inviting original “Friends of the Mojave Road” (FOMR) volunteers — those who helped establish the recreational four-wheel-drive trail on the historic Mojave Road more than 45 years ago — to a reunion on Saturday, Oct. 17. There is no fee for the reunion itself, though the association asks attendees to RSVP for an accurate headcount for a Saturday night barbecue dinner. Anyone who took part in those early efforts, or knows someone who did, is asked to contact the association at fomr.reunion@gmail.com or info@themojaveroad.org.
